An Arab Jewish virtuoso ensemble: Udi Bar David (Intercultural Journeys Artistic Director and a member of the Philadelphia Orchestra), Hanna Khoury (Arab-Jewish violinist), Margo Levertt (Klezmer clarinetist), Kareem Roustom (Syrian-born oud player), Rolando Morales Matos (drummer) .
This concert will be the culminating event for many activities that will take place in the community including Peace Walk Tucson and a “mini-conference” this same day featuring a screening of the award winning Israeli-Palestinian documentary “Encounter Point” to be followed by discussion panels and workshops.
Her Royal Highness Princess Alia of Jordan has been invited to attend this event.

In cooperation with Intercultural Journeys, a nonprofit organization whose artists seek Jewish-Arab understanding and dialogue through music, tour participants will visit Barcelona,Madrid and Valencia, while also attending performances and special events with the Philadelphia Orchestra. The Intercultural Journeys' ensemble will include Arab, Jewish and Spanish performers, presenting Middle Eastern cultures in perfect harmony and paying tribute to Spain's role in the Middle East peace process. This special tour also includes sightseeing highlights, as well as contemporary politics and art. |
