Dialogue, a core component of Intercultural Journeys’ mission, influences all of our community programs. Reflecting each artist’s background and interests, community programs can include panel discussions, pre-concert lectures, interactive workshops, and post-concert talkbacks, providing an in-depth opportunity to understand multiple aspects of each artist’s work.
Discover the world of the artist during 12x12, a performance series running on second Wednesdays from June through August.
It's a simple formula: Performance, artist talk, and question and answer sessions all in 12 minute blocks, adding up to an intriguing hour exploring an artist’s practice.
This is the second summer of 12x12 performances, and 2019 features Marissa Johnson-Valenzuela, Naya El, and Sinta Penyami in performances ranging from conceptual reggaeton to stilt dancing to Indonesian dance. Intimate and profound, come experience a perfect fusion of art and dialogue.
Tickets: $12 or pay-what-you-can ($1 minimum).
Explore the artist’s world with Sound Bites, a 15-minute pre-show talk that dives into the themes explored during each performance of the 2018-19 season, Origin Stories. Sound Bites starts at 7:00 pm for our 7:30 pm shows, and each Sound Bites features a different area expert.
